Diamond Bracelets

Every diamond bracelet in this collection was built to survive a real wrist, not a display case. This is how we learned that. Eleven days. That is how long our first diamond bracelet prototype survived on a test wrist at the Athens workshop before a link cracked. We were furious and also embarrassed because we had simply scaled down a necklace chain design and assumed it would work on a wrist. It did not work on a wrist. Wrists twist against desks and catch on jacket cuffs and absorb the impact of every handshake and every door handle, and the forces involved are nothing like what a necklace experiences hanging from a neck. Our goldsmith Petros, who now runs the bracelet bench exclusively, pulled the broken prototype apart and measured the failed link at 0.7mm gauge. He rebuilt it at 0.9mm. That 0.2mm sounds like nothing but it changes the shear resistance dramatically at each solder joint. The rebuilt version lasted four months of daily wear testing before Petros was satisfied enough to let us photograph it. He is not a patient man about most things but about a gold diamond bracelet specifically he is unreasonably patient.
