Gold Bracelets

Every gold bracelet for women in this collection was prototyped on a real wrist. Here is why that matters. We prototype every gold bracelet on an actual wrist, not a mandrel. Mandrels are the cylindrical forms that most workshops use and they approximate wrist shape the way a cylinder approximates an oval, which is to say poorly. A real wrist has a flat underside, a rounded top, and two bony protrusions on the sides that create pressure points on any solid gold bracelet that was shaped on a perfect circle. Our Athens workshop keeps three silicone wrist molds cast from actual people with different wrist dimensions and we test every gold bracelet prototype on all three before it goes into production. The difference shows up in comfort. A gold bracelet for women shaped on a mandrel will rotate and the clasp migrates to the top of the wrist by mid afternoon. One shaped to an oval profile stays oriented correctly because gravity pulls the heaviest point, the clasp assembly, to the underside where it belongs. Small detail. Big difference across a twelve hour wearing day. Every real gold bracelet in this collection was prototyped on silicone wrists before production because mandrels lie about comfort and we got tired of believing them. Our gold chain bracelet designs use the same oval forming process on every link. For a piece that connects a ring and bracelet in one continuous chain, the ring chain bracelet is one of our most requested hand chain designs.
