A signet ring is the oldest piece of jewelry still made. The original purpose was to press into wax and mark a document: a sealing ring. The modern signet keeps the flat face and the substantial weight, but the seal is no longer pressed, only worn. Every gold signet ring in this collection is solid 14k gold, forged and finished by hand in our Athens workshop, with the face either left polished and plain, engraved with initials, or set with small diamonds.
The weight and proportion of a signet ring matters more than with any other ring style. A signet that is too light reads as imitation. A signet that is too heavy is uncomfortable for daily wear. Our signet rings are calibrated so the face sits flat on the finger without tipping to one side, and the shank is thick enough to withstand daily use without distorting under pressure.
Browse by shape. For an oval face signet, the most classic shape, see the core collection below. For a rectangular cushion shape, browse our rectangular signet options within the wider ring collection. For miniature versions that work on the pinky or as stacking pieces, explore our smaller signet sizes. For diamond-accented signets with stones set into the face, see our diamond rings collection.
Signet rings pair well with stacking styles on other fingers or the same hand. Browse our stackable rings, our thin rings, or our pinky rings for pieces that complement a signet without competing. For the full gold ring range, see our 14k gold rings or rings collection.
Every gold signet ring ships free within the US, handcrafted in solid 14k gold by our Athens workshop, in continuous practice since 1953. Solid gold. Designed to be worn, not just shown.
