Choker Necklaces

A choker sits at the base of the neck, following the throat in a way no other necklace length does. At 14 to 16 inches, it reads close and intimate without being tight. The right choker lies flat against the skin without pinching, turns with the neck without twisting, and catches light against the collarbone from the angle most other necklaces miss. Every choker necklace in this collection is solid 14k gold, proportioned in our Athens workshop so the clasp and chain weight stay balanced when the piece is worn.

Choker chains are the most unforgiving length in fine jewelry. A chain too light curls against the throat instead of draping. A chain too heavy shifts forward and pulls the clasp around to the front. We calibrate choker weights against neck sizes ranging from 32 to 38 cm, and the results inform every choker we build. The piece should feel present but forgettable, like any other daily piece of jewelry, only closer to the skin.
